Memory Fragment

Memory Fragment is a small sculptural object printed in matte black resin, shaped from data taken from neuroimaging studies of memory formation. The form itself is a memory — specifically the average shape of a hippocampal activation across 500 subjects recalling their earliest childhood image. No two objects are identical. Each comes with provenance documentation and a certificate linking the piece to its source dataset.
